About Burlada

Burlada, officially Burlada / Burlata, is a town in Navarra on the Camino Francés, between Villava and Pamplona.

The town sits close to the Arga River, on the edge of the Pamplona urban area. Older records mention the place under names such as Bruslada, Bruslata, and Buruslata. Its history is closely tied to the Camino, as pilgrims entering Navarra through Roncesvalles have passed this way for centuries on the final approach into Pamplona.

For pilgrims today, Burlada is mainly a practical stop. After the quieter villages of the Arga Valley, this section feels much more urban, with easy access to cafés, bars, shops, pharmacies, ATMs, and other services. It is a useful place to stop for food, coffee, supplies, or a short rest before entering Pamplona.

From Burlada, the Camino continues toward Pamplona along the river area and approaches the city through one of the classic entrances of the route: the medieval Magdalena Bridge and the old city walls. The walking is mostly flat and straightforward, but the feeling changes here from rural Camino to city arrival.
