Casa da Fernanda is a small, family-run albergue in the quiet hamlet of Lugar do Corgo, in Vitorino dos Piães, sitting along the Portuguese Way to Santiago de Compostela. It has built a genuine reputation among pilgrims not through marketing but through word of mouth, with walkers consistently pointing to it as one of the most memorable stops on the route.

The albergue is run by Fernanda and Jacinto, who treat guests as though they are staying in their own home, because in many ways they are. With only 10 beds in shared rooms, the scale is intentionally intimate. The garden is a welcome place to rest tired legs, and the included bedding keeps packing simple.

What sets Casa da Fernanda apart is the communal dinner. Each evening, guests sit together for a home-cooked meal that has become something of a legend on this stretch of the Caminho. Vegetarian options are available. Breakfast is also included, and the nightly rate of around 35 euros covers bed, dinner, and breakfast combined, making it good value by any measure. Bicycle storage is available for those cycling the route.

The albergue is generally open from February through late October. Given its small capacity and strong reputation, booking ahead is strongly advised, particularly during the busier spring and summer months.
