Albergue Casa Rectoral de Pria

Perched on a hill beside the Church of Saint Peter in the small Asturian village of Piñeres de Pría, this pilgrim hostel occupies the old rectory house attached to the parish. The building's conversion into an albergue in 2012 gave the aging structure a new purpose, offering walkers on the Camino del Norte a quiet, unhurried place to rest in genuinely rural surroundings.

The hostel is run by volunteer hospitaleros on behalf of the Parish of Saint Peter, giving it a community feel that distinguishes it from larger, more commercial stops along the route. With just three bedrooms and 25 places across shared dormitories, it stays small and relatively peaceful. The setting reinforces that quality: the hilltop location next to the church puts pilgrims well away from road noise, with the Asturian countryside close at hand.

Practicalities worth knowing before arriving: the hostel operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted, and check-in runs from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM with a 9:00 PM closing time. There is a microwave available, but pilgrims need to bring their own food for dinner and breakfast. Between mid-June and mid-August, the hostel can be block-booked by groups, so calling ahead during that window is advisable. Bicycles cannot be accommodated. A pilgrim's credential is required for a bed.
