Casa Paderborn sits just outside Pamplona's old town, tucked beside the Arga River a short walk from the Magdalena Bridge. It occupies a quietly scenic spot, and pilgrims arriving via the riverside route can cross directly to it using a footbridge over the Arga, cutting out the road entirely.

What makes this hostel distinctive is its origins. It is run by the Jakobusfreunde Paderborn, the Friends of the Camino de Santiago association based in Paderborn, Germany. Paderborn and Pamplona are twin cities, and this hostel is a direct expression of that relationship, opened in 2007 as a gesture of solidarity between the two cities along one of Europe's oldest pilgrimage roads. The hostel is municipally owned but managed entirely by volunteer hospitaleros from the German association, which gives it a noticeably personal atmosphere compared to larger, more institutional pilgrim hostels.

The accommodation is straightforward: 26 beds across five rooms of varying sizes, with bunk beds, individual lockers, and basic facilities including a washer and dryer. Breakfast is available for a small extra charge. Pilgrims can also drop backpacks here between 9:00 and 12:30 without a reservation, a useful option for those who want to explore Pamplona unencumbered. The hostel also stamps pilgrim credentials. It opens from March through October and does not take advance bookings.
