A pilgrim-only albergue in the small village of Ledigos on the Camino Francés, offering 35 dormitory beds across two rooms plus five private rooms, with breakfast, a bar-restaurant, laundry facilities, and a garden available on-site.
Private Albergue
El Palomar is a privately run pilgrim hostel in Ledigos, a small village on the Camino Francés in the province of Palencia, sitting in the wide, open grain country of the Castilian meseta. The hostel takes its name, meaning "the dovecote," from the rural character of the area, and operates exclusively for pilgrims walking the route.
The accommodation is straightforward and practical. Two dormitory rooms offer a combined 35 beds, one fitted with 18 bunk beds and the other with 17 low beds, which some walkers find easier on tired legs. There are also five private rooms, including double and quadruple options, giving pilgrims a bit of choice depending on how much rest they need.
Run by Andrei, El Palomar is open year-round with no set check-in time, though guests are expected to be in by 10pm. Breakfast is available for 4 euros, and the bar-restaurant offers a pilgrim menu for 15 euros. A washing machine and dryer, bicycle shelter, and garden round out the amenities. Ledigos itself is a quiet stop, often overlooked in favor of larger towns, but that quietness is part of its appeal for pilgrims who want a more restful night on this long, exposed stretch of the meseta.
