Albergue La Rectoral de Priesca

La Rectoral de Priesca is a small pilgrim albergue operating out of a former rectory in the quiet village of Priesca, on the Camino de la Costa through Asturias. It sits at the entrance to the village, convenient for walkers arriving along the coastal route between Villaviciosa and Colunga.

The albergue opened in 2017 under parochial ownership and is managed privately by hospitalera Asun Gárate. It offers 22 places in shared dormitories across four bedrooms, plus one private double room. Breakfast is included in the price, and given the lack of nearby services, Asun also sells food and drinks so pilgrims can put together their own evening meal using the kitchen.

The main draw beyond the accommodation itself is direct access to the pre-Romanesque church of San Salvador de Priesca, which dates to 921 AD and is one of the better-preserved examples of Asturian pre-Romanesque architecture in the region. Pilgrims staying at the albergue can arrange a visit, typically organized collectively in the early evening between 7 and 8 pm. The church retains original decorative stonework and gives a genuine sense of the early medieval religious culture that shaped this part of northern Spain long before the Romanesque style arrived.

The albergue is closed on Mondays and operates from April through November.
