Albergue Piedad

The Albergue Piedad is a small, privately run pilgrim hostel in Boo de Piélagos, a quiet municipality in the Cantabrian municipality of Piélagos, sitting along the Northern Camino route through the coastal region of Cantabria. It opened in 2013 and is managed personally by its owner, Piedad, whose name the albergue carries.

The hostel is located next to the local train station, which makes it a practical option for pilgrims who need to adjust their plans or access nearby towns. Boo de Piélagos itself sits inland from the Cantabrian coast, in the valley of the Pas river, an area known for its green rolling hills and traditional Cantabrian architecture.

Accommodation is straightforward: shared dormitories sleeping four or six people, along with a small number of private rooms. The hostel is open year-round, though advance notice is appreciated in low season. It includes a bar-restaurant on site, bed linens and towels, a garden, and a bicycle shelter. The building is also accessible for people with reduced mobility, which is relatively uncommon among smaller albergues on this route. Non-pilgrims are welcome to stay, though the place is oriented toward those walking the Camino del Norte.
