Opened in 2018 and run privately by Sito Flechoso, the hostel is exclusively for pilgrims and has a relaxed, personal feel typical of smaller albergues on the Camino del Norte. It offers 12 places across two shared dormitories, with individual lockers providing some security for valuables and gear. The nightly rate includes breakfast, which is a practical bonus, and a dinner can be arranged for an additional 10 euros with advance notice.
La Franca itself is a quiet village on the Asturian coast with a sheltered beach that pilgrims sometimes use for a swim or a rest. The coastal scenery along this stretch of the Norte is genuinely striking, with cliffs, green hillsides, and views over the Cantabrian Sea. The Triskel's garden is a good place to wind down after a day on the trail. The hostel is open from March through November, with prices slightly higher in July and August. Check-in runs from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and lights out is at 10:30 PM.
