Hospital da Cruz (O Hospital)

Hospital da Cruz sits in the province of Lugo, in Galicia, on the Camino between Castromaior and Ventas de Naron. The hamlet stands at a small crossroads on the high ground east of Palas de Rei.

The hamlet name preserves the memory of a medieval pilgrim hospital that operated here, Hospital of the Cross, set at the crossroads to serve travellers on the Camino. The hospital is long gone, but the name has been carried for centuries.

Services are limited. There is an albergue and a bar-restaurant. There is no shop, no pharmacy, and no ATM.
