Polígono do Tambre

The Polígono do Tambre is Santiago de Compostela's main industrial estate, and the transition from forest to warehouses is abrupt. It's not the arrival pilgrims dream of, but it has one well-known institution: a huge, always busy bar-restaurant where walkers traditionally stop for a final coffee or meal before the city.

Waymarks thin out amid the traffic, so keep straight on through two consecutive roundabouts. About 500 metres on you'll pass the long wall of the Boisaca cemetery, then follow the Rúa das Mulas toward the city's first residential streets at O Meixonfrío.
