Redondela → Pontevedra

This stage marks where the Coastal and Central routes merge into a single shared path for the final four stages to Santiago de Compostela. The route from Redondela heads inland through moderately hilly terrain, skirting the coast of the Vigo estuary before turning towards Pontevedra.

The trail becomes noticeably busier from here, with pilgrims from both routes walking together. The terrain involves some short climbs and descents through wooded hillsides, with occasional views back towards the estuary. The path is well-waymarked and well-maintained.

Pontevedra is widely considered one of Spain's most liveable cities, with a beautifully preserved pedestrianized old town, excellent tapas culture, and a welcoming atmosphere. The Praza da Ferreria and surrounding squares are perfect for evening exploration. Comprehensive services and accommodation at all price levels.
