About Boadilla del Camino

Boadilla del Camino is a small village in Palencia province on the Camino Francés, between Itero de la Vega and Frómista. For pilgrims, it is a useful overnight or rest stop before reaching the Canal de Castilla and Frómista.

The village has a long history linked to the Camino and the open agricultural landscape of Tierra de Campos. Its best-known monument is the Gothic rollo jurisdiccional, a carved stone column that once symbolised the village’s local jurisdiction. The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción is the main religious building in town.

Boadilla del Camino has pilgrim accommodation, bars, food options, and basic services. It is smaller than Frómista, but it is a good place to pause, eat, sleep, or break up the stage from Castrojeriz.

The must-see is the rollo jurisdiccional, but the walk out of town is also memorable. The Camino follows the Canal de Castilla toward Frómista, giving pilgrims a different landscape after the open Meseta fields.
