About Grado
Grado is a small market town in central Asturias, the first overnight stop on the Camino Primitivo from Oviedo. The town has a charming old quarter with arcaded streets and a traditional Wednesday market.
Pilgrims will find albergues, hotels, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, ATMs, and a pharmacy. The town is well-serviced for its size and provides a comfortable first night.
Grado is known for its local cheese varieties and Asturian cider. The walk from Oviedo passes through the green Asturian countryside, giving a taste of the increasingly rural and mountainous terrain ahead.
