Grijó

Grijo is a parish on the southern outskirts of the Porto metropolitan area, the last overnight stop before reaching the city. The Monastery of Sao Salvador de Grijo, a former Augustinian monastery, is the main landmark.

The parish has an albergue (run by the local parish) and basic services including cafes. Accommodation options beyond the albergue are limited.

The walking from Grijo into Porto covers about 15 km and transitions from suburban terrain into the city centre. The final stretch enters Porto through quieter residential areas before reaching the historic centre and the Se Cathedral, where the Camino from Porto officially begins and the route splits into Coastal and Central options.
