About Guillena

Guillena is a small town north of Seville, the first overnight stop on the Via de la Plata. The walk from Seville passes through olive groves and the Andalusian countryside.

Pilgrims will find an albergue, restaurants, cafes, a supermarket, and a pharmacy. The town is functional rather than picturesque but provides a comfortable first night.

The Via de la Plata is significantly less walked than routes like the Frances, so pilgrims may find themselves with fewer fellow walkers from the very beginning.
