About Iria Flavia

Iria Flavia is a parish on the outskirts of Padron, one of the first places pilgrims pass through on the final day of walking to Santiago. The Collegiate Church of Santa Maria de Iria Flavia has deep connections to the origins of the Camino pilgrimage.

According to tradition, the disciples of Saint James brought his remains here before they were moved to Santiago. The church and its surroundings are worth a brief stop for pilgrims interested in the religious history of the route.

Services are limited as this is essentially part of greater Padron. The nearby Sanctuary of A Escravitude is also of interest to pilgrims with time for a short detour.
