Praia de Angeiras

Angeiras sits on the Atlantic coast between Leca da Palmeira and Labruge, about 21 km north of Porto's Se Cathedral. The coastal boardwalk passes directly through the parish, offering pilgrims views of colourful fishing boats and traditional fishermen's huts lining the beachfront streets.

The area's fishing heritage dates back to Roman times, with well-preserved fish salting tanks (Tanques Romanos) visible right beside the boardwalk. Praia de Angeiras Sul and Praia de Angeiras Norte are popular local beaches.

In October 2025, the Angeiras Beach Hostel opened in the upper floor of the historic Mercado de Angeiras in Lavra. With 70 beds across multiple dormitories, it serves surfers, pilgrims, and visitors. The hostel includes a kitchen, laundry facilities, and bike storage. Several seafood restaurants are within walking distance near the old fish market.
