Ventosa

Ventosa is a small village in La Rioja on the Camino Francés, between Navarrete and Nájera. For pilgrims, it is a useful rest or overnight stop in a quieter stretch of vineyard country.

The village has been connected to the Camino for centuries, serving pilgrims moving west through La Rioja toward Nájera. Its name is often associated with wind, which fits the open landscape around the village. The main local sight is the Church of San Saturnino, set within the old village centre.

Ventosa has practical pilgrim services, though on a smaller scale than Navarrete or Nájera. It has albergues, places to eat and drink, and basic village facilities. It is a good place to pause for coffee, lunch, water, or a quieter overnight stay.

Ventosa is especially useful because the surrounding section can feel exposed in warm weather. If you are walking through in the afternoon, use the village to refill water and take a proper break before continuing toward Nájera.
