Zenarruza Monastery

The Collegiate Monastery of Zenarruza (Ziortza-Bolibar) sits in a peaceful valley in the Basque hills between Markina-Xemein and Gernika. The monastery has been a stopping point for pilgrims since the medieval period.

The monastery operates a pilgrim albergue and pilgrims can attend services with the small community of Augustinian canons. The Gothic cloister and the church are worth visiting.

The setting is rural and tranquil, surrounded by forest and farmland. Services beyond the monastery are essentially non-existent.
