Cañaveral

Canaveral is a small town near the Tagus River (Rio Tajo) in northern Extremadura. The town has an albergue, restaurants, cafes, and basic services.

The long stage from Casar de Caceres (34 km) passes through remote, sparsely populated countryside with limited services. Pilgrims should carry adequate water and food.

The Tagus valley near Canaveral is home to important bird populations, including griffon vultures, black storks, and eagles. The Monfrague National Park is nearby.
