Albergue La Parada is a privately run pilgrim hostel in Reliegos open from Easter to 31 October, offering shared dorms and private rooms, with meals, free kitchen, laundry, pet-friendly facilities, and bike storage under new management since 2023.
Private Albergue
Albergue La Parada sits in the small village of Reliegos, one of the quieter stops on the Camino Francés between Sahagún and León. Reliegos itself is a modest agricultural settlement with little to distract from its role as a rest point, which makes a welcoming albergue here more valuable than it might be in a larger town.
Opened in 2011 and under new management since 2023, La Parada is run by Debby and Rafael as a private hostel oriented primarily toward pilgrims, though not exclusively for them. It offers 36 beds across six shared dormitories of six beds each, with pricing varying depending on whether you take a bunk or a lower bed. Four private double rooms are also available for those wanting more space after a long day on the meseta.
The facilities are practical and reasonably well-equipped: a free kitchen with microwave and fridge, laundry machines, bike storage, and accessibility for reduced mobility. A bar-restaurant on site serves dinner for around 15 euros and breakfast is also available, which matters in a village where other dining options are limited. Pets are welcome, which is worth noting for pilgrims walking with dogs. The albergue is open from Easter through the end of October, with check-in available from noon until 10 in the evening, and reservations are accepted.
