Navarrete itself is worth a slower look if time allows. The town has a notable 16th-century church, Santa María de la Asunción, whose elaborate altarpiece is one of the more impressive along this stretch of the Camino. The old cemetery gate near the route is actually a repurposed Romanesque doorway salvaged from the ruined pilgrim hospital of San Juan de Acre, giving the town a quiet, layered connection to the medieval pilgrimage road.
