Hostal Rivero has served pilgrims on the Camino Francés since 1999, when the Rivero Tomé brothers opened it to meet the needs of walkers passing through Bercianos del Real Camino, a small village with limited accommodation at the time.

Hostal Rivero sits on the main street of Bercianos del Real Camino, a small village on the Meseta section of the French Way, where the flat, exposed landscape makes a reliable stopping point genuinely welcome. The hostal was founded in 1999 by the Rivero Tome brothers, who set out to fill a practical gap: at the time, the village's municipal albergue lacked properly fitted rooms, leaving pilgrims with limited options for a comfortable night's rest.
What began as a family initiative has operated continuously since, offering both accommodation and a restaurant to the steady stream of walkers passing through. The village itself is a classic Meseta stop, small and quiet, with the Camino running straight through its center along the Calle Mayor.
The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Summer hours run 8am to 11pm, and winter hours 9am to 11pm.
