About Hospital de Órbigo

Hospital de Orbigo is a small town famous for the Puente de Orbigo, one of the longest medieval bridges in Spain at nearly 400 metres. According to legend, in 1434 a lovesick knight held a jousting tournament on the bridge, challenging all comers for a month.

The town has albergues, restaurants, cafes, and basic services. The bridge itself is the main attraction, and crossing it is one of the memorable moments on the Camino Frances.

Hospital de Orbigo sits between Leon and Astorga and is a popular stopping point, particularly for those who prefer shorter stages.
