O Biduedo

O Biduedo sits in the province of Lugo, in Galicia, on the descent from the Alto do Poio toward Triacastela. The Camino runs through the heart of the small hamlet along the mountain road.

The hamlet name comes from bidueiro, the Galician word for birch tree, after the birch forests that still grow on the mountainsides here. The setting is high Galician pasture, with stone walls and oak and birch woodland. The hamlet's small chapel of San Pedro is among the smallest churches on the Camino, a simple stone structure standing beside the road.

Services in O Biduedo are limited. There is an albergue and a bar-restaurant. There is no shop, no pharmacy, and no ATM.
