About Morgade

Morgade sits in the province of Lugo, in Galicia, on the Camino as it crosses the rolling hill country between Sarria and Portomarin. The Camino runs through the small hamlet.

Morgade is a quiet Galician hamlet with a small medieval chapel beside the path. The hamlet's main significance for modern pilgrims is its proximity to the 100km marker, the official stone marker on the Camino that indicates the minimum distance from Santiago required to earn the Compostela certificate. Pilgrims who walk from this point to Santiago technically qualify, though most begin from Sarria a few kilometres back.

Services in Morgade are limited but useful. There is an albergue and a bar-restaurant. There is no shop, no pharmacy, and no ATM.
