About This Stage
The route enters the Bearn region, with increasingly hilly terrain as the Pyrenees draw closer. The landscape becomes greener and more pastoral, with the mountain silhouette growing on the southern horizon.
The walking passes through small farming villages and scattered woodland. Watch for the traditional Bearnais farmhouses with their steep slate roofs and the free-ranging Blonde d'Aquitaine cattle.
Arzacq-Arraziguet is a small bastide town founded in the 13th century with a central arcaded square.
Terrain: Rolling hills, agricultural paths, some forested sections, village streets
