Arzacq-Arraziguet → Arthez-de-Béarn

30 km | 7-10 hours | +636m / -671m

About This Stage

The path continues through the hilly Bearn countryside. The terrain is rolling through green pastures, mixed woodland, and scattered farming villages, with the Pyrenees now clearly visible to the south on clear days.

Arthez-de-Bearn is a small hilltop village with a medieval church and views towards the mountains. The village is known for its Jurançon wine production, the sweet white wine that Henri IV of France reportedly had placed on his lips at his christening.

Look for the pilgrims' cross at the entrance to the village, a traditional waymark.

Terrain: Rolling Bearnais hills, pastoral farmland, some forested sections, village cobblestones
