About This Stage

A gentle walk across the Margeride countryside between the granite highlands and the Aubrac plateau. The terrain is easy and the pace can be relaxed.

Watch for the granite crosses and oratories that mark the route through the farming villages. The stone-built villages here have changed little in centuries, with cattle still housed on the ground floor of the farmhouses during winter.

Aumont-Aubrac is a small town at the gateway to the Aubrac plateau. The town's name hints at what lies ahead: one of the most distinctive and demanding landscapes on the Le Puy route.

Terrain: Flat to gently rolling rural roads, agricultural paths, village streets
