Albergue de Peregrinos Municipal Cluny

The Cluny Pilgrim Hostel occupies a building with genuine historical weight: it is housed inside the old Church of the Trinity, a medieval structure that once served the spiritual needs of this busy pilgrim town on the Camino Francés. Sahagún was historically one of the most important stops on the route, a prosperous town shaped by the powerful Benedictine monastery of San Facundo, which had close ties to the Abbey of Cluny in Burgundy. That connection gives this hostel its name.

The hostel is municipally owned and operated, keeping costs low at 9 euros per night for a bed in one of its 8-person compartmentalized dormitory sections, with 64 places in total. It runs year-round except over Christmas, and pilgrims can check in from 11am until 11pm. Facilities include a free kitchen with microwave and refrigerator, washers and dryers, individual lockers, disposable sheets, and a bicycle shelter. The hostel also issues the Credencial del Peregrino for those who need one.

Its location puts it close to the old town center and right alongside the main route, making it easy to reach after a long stage. During the off-season, calling ahead to confirm availability is recommended before arriving.
