Karma Hostel is a small, privately run pilgrim hostel in the quiet hilltop village of Sansol, sitting just above the Camino Francés in the Navarre wine country between Logroño and Pamplona. It opened in 2021 and is managed by Josu, who runs the place with an informal, welcoming approach typical of smaller owner-operated albergues.
With only ten beds spread across two rooms, it stays genuinely small-scale. Bunk beds and low beds are available, and the hostel is accessible for people with reduced mobility, which is relatively uncommon among pilgrim hostels of this size. A communal dinner for around ten euros gives pilgrims a chance to share the evening together, and practical amenities like a washer and dryer, microwave, and covered bike storage cover the basics well.
Sansol itself is often overlooked in favor of its neighbor Torres del Río, just a short walk downhill, but the village offers a peaceful stop with views over the Ebro valley. Staying here puts pilgrims slightly off the main flow, which for some is exactly the point.
