Albergue parroquial de Belorado

The Belorado Parish Hostel occupies a former theater that was converted into pilgrim accommodation in the 1990s, and it still retains the original stage inside. That theatrical past gives the space a character that sets it apart from standard pilgrim hostels: the sleeping area has the feel of a repurposed cultural venue rather than a purpose-built bunkhouse.

Attached to the church of Santa María at the entrance to Belorado, the hostel is run by volunteers from a Swiss association of friends of the Camino, which gives it an international, community-driven atmosphere. It operates on a donativo model, with a suggested contribution of around 10 euros that includes a donation breakfast, making it one of the more affordable and warmly run stops on this stretch of the Camino Francés.

With just 20 beds across three rooms, it is a small, intimate setup where pilgrims tend to actually talk to one another. The kitchen is free to use, and there is shelter for bicycles. The hostel runs from April through October, with check-in from the early afternoon until 10 in the evening. No reservations are accepted, so arriving reasonably early is advisable, particularly during the busier summer months.
