About This Stage
A shorter, easier stage descending gradually towards Luarca, one of the most beautiful fishing towns in western Asturias. After the demanding previous stages, the reduced climbing and distance provide welcome relief.
The route continues along the coast with the terrain easing as you approach Luarca. The final descent into the town reveals Luarca's harbour, arranged around a narrow inlet with colourful fishing boats.
Luarca (Lluarca in Asturian) is a charming fishing town with a picturesque harbour, a clifftop cemetery with sea views, and good seafood restaurants. The town has adequate services and comfortable accommodation. Luarca's relaxed atmosphere makes it a favourite rest stop on the Norte.
Terrain: Coastal paths, gentle descent, rural lanes, town approach
