About This Stage
A long stage heading west through the final stretch of the Asturian coast, with a characteristic 'dientes de sierra' (sawtooth) profile of constant ups and downs. The route passes through Otur and crosses the Rio Esva, continuing through small western Asturian villages.
The terrain is moderately hilly with forest and farmland. In Villademoros, the 15th-century Torre de Villademoros is one of the finest examples of medieval military architecture in the region. The route passes near the town of Navia (at approximately km 19), which has all services and good albergues if you need to split the stage.
A Carida is a small town near the Asturian-Galician border with basic services including accommodation and restaurants.
Terrain: Coastal and inland paths, rolling hills, forest sections, rural roads
