A demanding stage heading inland through the hilly Galician countryside. The route leaves the coast and enters a landscape of rolling hills, eucalyptus plantations, and small farming villages. Over 1,400 metres of climbing makes this a tough day.
The Galician interior is green, rural, and often misty. The path winds through forest and farmland, passing granite hamlets and ancient churches. The terrain is constantly undulating with no flat sections.
Lourenza is a small Galician town with the impressive Baroque monastery of San Salvador, whose ornate facade dominates the main square. The town has adequate services with accommodation and restaurants.

The first Galician town on the Camino del Norte, on the south bank of the Eo estuary. Near the spectacular Praia das Catedrais (Cathedral Beach) with its enormous natural rock arches.
The hamlet's only café, Tentempe, serves food Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm and is closed Sundays; a water fountain is also available beside the local church.
A small Galician town with a Baroque Benedictine monastery (San Salvador de Lourenza) and a pleasant town centre. Has an albergue and basic services.
