About La Trinidad de Arre
La Trinidad de Arre is a historic Camino stop in Navarra, just before Villava and the final approach into Pamplona.
The Camino reaches La Trinidad de Arre by crossing a medieval bridge over the Ultzama River. Beside the bridge is the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, a Romanesque church whose original layout dates from the 12th or 13th century. The basilica, old hospital, and hostel were important to pilgrims during the Middle Ages, and the site still has a strong tradition of Camino hospitality today.
For pilgrims, La Trinidad de Arre is most useful as a rest stop or overnight option before entering Pamplona. The albergue beside the basilica continues the old pilgrim-hostel tradition, and the setting is one of the more memorable entrances on this stage: bridge, river, church, and village edge all in one place.
Services become much easier from here. After La Trinidad de Arre, the Camino passes through Villava and Burlada before crossing into Pamplona. The walking is mostly urban and flat, so this is a good place to pause, refill, or reset before the final stretch into the city.
