About This Stage
The route leaves Lugo through its suburbs and enters the rolling Galician countryside. The terrain is gentle compared to the mountain stages, with moderate hills through eucalyptus forest, small farming villages, and pastoral landscape.
The path passes through typical Galician hamlets with granite horreos, stone walls, and small family farms. The walking is pleasant and the pace can be relaxed after the demanding mountain stages.
San Roman da Retorta is a small hamlet with a Romanesque church and a pilgrim albergue. The village is quiet and rural, a typical Galician stopping point.
