About This Stage
The path climbs steeply out of Conques through a deeply dissected landscape of river valleys and forested ridges. The terrain is rugged, with the route constantly climbing and descending through dense woodland and across tributary streams.
Watch for the Chapelle Saint-Roch on the ascent from Conques, offering a final view back over the village and abbey. The landscape here is wild and wooded, with chestnuts, oaks, and scattered farming hamlets.
