About Tinéu (Tineo)
Tineo is a hilltop town in western Asturias with panoramic views over the surrounding mountains and valleys. The town has a medieval monastery (Monasterio de San Pedro de Obona nearby) and a traditional market square.
Pilgrims will find albergues, hotels, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, ATMs, and a pharmacy. Tineo is one of the larger and better-serviced towns on the Primitivo.
The walk from Salas to Tineo involves significant climbing, and the town's hilltop position rewards the effort with expansive views. From here, the route heads deeper into the Asturian mountains.
